LLOYD FRANK: (1886-1960) British-born American Film Director, one of the founders of the Academy of ... - LLOYD FRANK: (1886-1960) British-born American Film Director, one of the founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Scientists, of which he was President from 1934-35. A good vintage signed and inscribed 10.5 x 12.5 photograph of Lloyd in a half length pose. Signed in dark fountain pen ink to the lower white border, 'To my ''Flip'', A good little Flapper from a thankful Director, Frank Lloyd'. Also signed in pencil by the photographer and dated 1922. Apparently inscribed to the actress Clara Bow. A couple of very light, minor scuffs to the image, otherwise VG Clara Bow (1905-1965) American Actress, known as 'The It Girl'. Bow was directed by Lloyd in three films - Black Oxen (1923), Children of Divorce (1927) and Hoopla (1933).
