SENNETT MACK: (1880-1960) Canadian-born American Film Director, an innovator of slapstick comedy. Academy Award winner. T.L.S., Mack, one page, 8vo, Hollywood, California, 12th April 1938, to Eddie Mannix at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio in Culver City, on the printed stationery of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Sennett thanks his correspondent for their congratulatory wire on the occasion of Sennett receiving his Oscar and explains the delay in doing so, 'owing to the uncertainty of your whereabouts in the East, I waited until I learned of your arrival here'.
