NERUDA PABLO: (1904-1973) Chilean Poet. His real name being Ricardo Reyes Basoalto, he derived his pen name from Jan Neruda a Czech Poet. Neruda won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971. A good T.L.S., `Pablo Neruda´, signed in green ink, one page, colour page, 4to, Isla Negra, Chile, 10th November 1969, to Rita Guibert New York, in Spanish. An interesting content letter where Neruda opens his home to his correspondent, stating `I have received your last letters. Please send me by post mail the questions. You can come to Isla Negra between the 1st and 15th December. My telephone is the number 1 of Isla Negra. When you will reach the capital (Santiago) call from there to the telephone number mentioned, and warn the telephone operator that it is a ''by messenger'' call. During the interview you can stay and live in my home of Isla Negra.´ On a post-scriptum, Neruda adds `At my home of Isla Negra there is no telephone, and the number 1 corresponds to the local inn, from where they let me know about phone calls.´ Accompanied by the original envelope post-marked.
