DALAI LAMA: (1935- ) Tibetan Spiritual Leader, Nobel Peace Prize winner, 1989. A scarce, early vintage signed postcard photograph of the Dalai Lama seated in a three quarter length pose wearing his familiar robes. Signed in dark ink and dated March 1969 in his hand to a clear area of the image. Accompanied by a T.L.S. by Tenzin Geyche, Deputy Private Secretary to the Dalai Lama, one page, small 4to, Thekchen Choling, Himachel Pradesh, 19th March 1969, to Rev. J. F. Rowlands, forwarding the signed photograph. Together with Sivananda Saraswati (1887-1963) Hindu Spiritual Teacher, a proponent of Yoga and Vedanta. T.L.S., Sivananda, to one side of a printed postcard featuring his portrait, Sivananda-Nagar Post, 18th September 1958, to William Wray. Saraswati thanks his correspondent for their letter and sends prayers for their peace, prosperity, enlightenment and spiritual progress and adds that he is sending him a book by separate mail, further remarking 'You may write to me about your progress and daily routine. I will guide you. Aspire to realise your essential divinity. Lead the life Divine and tread the path of Yoga. Spread the Message of Peace all around you
