CILEA FRANCESCO: (1866-1950) Italian Composer. Best known for his operas Adriana Lecouvreur (1902) and L´Arlesiana (1897) including his celebrated aria `E la Solita Storia del Pastore´ also known as Lamento di Federico. A good A.M.Q.S., `F. Cilea´, one page, large 8vo, on a page removed from an autograph album, dated 19th September 1907 in his hand. Cilea has penned three bars of music which he identifies and entitles Adriana, adding beneath the quote the aria title `Io son l´Umile Ancella´, being the first act well-known soprano aria from his opera Adriana Lecouvreur. Small overall minor age wear. About VG
