RUSSIAN PORCELAIN PLATE, KORNILOV, 1861-1884
A RUSSIAN PORCELAIN PLATE
Kornilov Factory, 1861-1884.
The plate is decorated in a Pan-Slavic style featuring an Imperial Russian double-headed eagle within a geometric pattern and an old Russian proverb around the rim.
Underglaze blue factory mark.
Reference: Private Porcelain Factory Empire Russia pp. 404-405.
A similar pair of plates is on display at the Hillwood Museum in Washington, DC.
