A CAST-BRONZE FIGURAL REPOUSSE LIDDED TANKARD, 19TH CEN.
This bronze cast tankard is decorated to look as if wood carved. The images depict soldiers, townsfolk, and children in either merriment or daily activities in a European-styled town. The handle is curved with the depiction of a musician. The lid depicts an inebriated gentleman resting against foliage, which is used to open the lid. No discernable manufacturing marks can be seen.
Europe - 19th century.
Dimensions: H: 9 1/4 in., (23.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall with a nice patina throughout. Some oxidation in places. Lid swivels nicely.
