A rare silver commemorative badge given by Gauleiter of Gau Dusseldorf Friedrich-Karl Florian, a silver-framed agate badge reading in relief on the bezel: "Westmarkfahrt 1938 Alte Garde". With Agate stone.
The "Altegarde" refers to the "old guard", the earliest members of the Nazi Party, those who joined it before the Reichstag 1930 German federal election. Many belonged, with many belonging to the party at its foundation 1919–1923. These men were Hitler's most ardent and earliest supporters.
