Oil on board study by Konstantin Makovsky (Russian, 1839-1915) for the painting "A Boyard Wedding Feast" (1883.) The study depicts a seated Boyard. Signed at the lower left "C. Makowsky."
In the diverse creative heritage of Konstantin Makovsky, paintings glorifying boyar life were among the most popular and demanded works.
