An Exceptional Brass Silver and Copper Damascene Etrog Container, Syria, Late 19th Century
Description: Raised on a cone shaped support finely inlaid with copper and silver in the typical design. Above a lidded spherical container decorated throughout with fine hammering and inscribed in Hebrew "And ye shall take you on the first day the fruit of goodly trees" (Leviticus 23:40). Topped by a Star of David finial inscribed "Zion"
Height: 30 cm
Condition: The finial broken, otherwise good.
