Pablo Picasso, Visage de Faune Ceramic Bowl - STC.
The "Visage de faune" bowl by Pablo Picasso is a striking piece of ceramic art, reflecting his distinctive style and creative prowess. Created on March 30th 1955, this bowl showcases Picasso's fascination with mythological themes, specifically the mythological faun.

From the S & B Lyons collection.

Description:
Diameter: 179 mm
Height: 64 mm
Crafted white earthenware ceramic bowl with black oxide and glaze.
Design: The bowl features a faun's face, executed with bold, expressive lines that capture the whimsical and mischievous nature of the creature. The visage is characterised by Picasso's typical minimalist yet impactful approach, using a limited colour palette and fluid, dynamic strokes to bring the faun to life.
Markings: The bowl bears the reversed date '30.3.55.', a hallmark of Picasso's playful approach to his works. Additionally, it is stamped with 'Madoura Empreinte Originale de Picasso, ' indicating that it was produced at the renowned Madoura pottery workshop in Vallauris, France, where Picasso created many of his ceramic pieces.
Condition: The bowl is in impeccable condition, preserving its original lustre and clarity of design. There are no chips, cracks, or signs of wear, making it a pristine example of Picasso's ceramic work.
This bowl is not only a functional piece of pottery but also a collectible work of art, embodying Picasso's innovative spirit and his ability to imbue everyday objects with artistic significance.
