A Lot of 5 Islamic Manuscripts – Middle Eastern, African & Persian, 17th–18th Century
A compilation of five Islamic handwritten books spanning various regions and centuries, showcasing religious, scientific, and legal themes.
1. A 17th Century Middle Eastern Religious Manuscript (Dated 1012 AH / 1603 AD):
Written in Arabic, this early manuscript contains Islamic religious teachings. Dated 1012 Hijri.
2. An Incomplete 18th Century African Qur’an Manuscript:
Bound in worn black leather, this manuscript is written in distinctive Maghrebi or West African script. Though incomplete, it bears clear traces of Quranic verses in red and black ink.
3. A 18th Century Persian Religious Commentary (Fiqh):
Possibly a theological or jurisprudential text (Usul al-Fiqh or Tafsir), this manuscript features dense Persian script and scholastic marginalia.
4. A 17th–18th Century Persian Scientific/Medical Manuscript:
Bound in yellow boards, this manuscript contains sections on early chemistry and medicine. The Arabic-Persian terminology hints at early Islamic scientific exchange.
5. A 18th Century Persian Manuscript on Marriage (Kitab al-Nikah):
This work elaborates Islamic rulings on marriage. The interior features detailed script and legal explanations, likely used by a Qadi or religious scholar.
