Gold necklace with pendants of Kushan coins. - Gold necklace with pendants of Kushan coins. 46.78g, length 43.5cm. Two strains with closure and three mounted coins as pendants. The strains are made of loop-in-loop chains and inbetween tubular beads. The coins are gold dinars of Kanishka I (127 -151 AD) who is presented on the obverses. The reverses of the dinars depict the deity Shiva, the moon deity Mao and the sun deity Mithra. In the Hindu triad, Shiva stands for destruction; in his abstract form, he is a symbol for fertility. 2nd century AD. Intact. Wearable!
