Etruscan attachment for a situla.
Etruscan attachment for a situla with convex shoulder and one omega-handle. Late 5th - early 4th century BC. Height 9,6cm and with stand 13,4cm, width 8,5cm. Massive cast. Above large ring for the handle. Below on the overhanging rim two plastically formed opposite animal heads. Under it two rows of engraved triangles and large acanthus leaves with engraved details. Dark green patina, traces of corrosion, missing part at the right acanthus leaf, mounted on wooden stand. In German private collection since 1998.
