Roman capital of composite order. - Roman capital of composite order. Imperial Period, 1st - 2nd century AD. Height 33cm and with stand 35,8cm, ø 30,2cm. Fine white marble. In the lower half of the kalathos frieze of acanthus leaves, in the upper part between double caules at the corners each a krater with different flowers. The abacus is concavely curved at the front and sides and straight at the back. With copy of the Bonhams catalogue from 2011! Large parts at the lower half of the kalathos and small fragments of the caules and the abacus are missing, mounted on a nice metal stand.
