Late Apulian skyphos of the Arpi Painter. - Late Apulian skyphos of the Arpi Painter. 320 - 310 BC. Height 12,1cm, width with handles 20,1cm, ø corpus 12,3cm. Front side in Rich Style with young lovers sitting to the right, she is holding an offering bowl, in front Eros with alabastron and branch. On the backside a courting scene, to the left a young sitting girl with bowl, before her a draped youth with wreath in his hand. Details in white and yellow. Above and below the foot reddish slip. There are five double holes for metal clips as part of an ancient repair of two broken rim fragments including a handle. Otherwise intact with well preserved colors.
