Eleazar son of Jacob the Babylonian lived in Baghdad in the first half of the thirteenth century. He was a spiritual guide in the ways of religious secession and a public emissary in the holy service. At the same time, he was deeply involved in the high society and court life of the rich in Baghdad who were close to the Arab authorities and culture.

In this work, the Babylonian Talmud interprets the principles of the writing of the Arab super-culture to traditional Jewish society.
