In the upper register, Cochem stretches along the Moselle, dominated above by the castle (Reichsburg) and parish towers; the riverside houses cling to the vineyarded slope, while the river, labelled Mosella fluvius, is animated by boats and ships. In the lower register, a circular plan of Monasterium in Campania (Münstermaifeld), with a double ring of walls and moat, radial street pattern and the large church at the centre; to the right, a cartouche with an alphabetical legend of the main buildings, flanked by small armorial shields. Text printed on the verso in Latin under the heading COCHMENSIS ET MONASTERII, URBIUM TREVIRENSIUM TOPOGRAPHIA, with texts on the monastery of Münstermaifeld and the town of Cochem, and the rubric COCHIMA; pagination “24”, from volume V of the Civitates orbis terrarum.
