Johann Christoph Haffner (1668–1754) was an important engraver and publisher in Augsburg, author of a series of views of European cities and the Holy Land; after his death, the plates continued to be printed by his heir Marcus Abraham Rupprecht, who retained the formula “ Haeres Ioh. Christoph Haffner ” in the legends.
