First edition. D.Rodrigo da Cunha was born in Lisbon in 1577 and died in the same city in 1643, he was Bishop of Portalegre and Porto, Archbishop of Braga in 1626 and of Lisbon in 1636. Governor of the kingdom and State Councilor, “actively competed for independence of Portugal in 1640”. A second edition was published in 1742, added by António Cerqueira Pinto.
