Editing almost all of articles originally published in periodicals, mainly in Jornal do Comércio, where the journalist collaborated for 23 years. José Ribeiro Guimarães (1818-1877), graduated in Law from the University of Coimbra, left an extensive work published in the Jornal, which he later collected in these five volumes, leaving part of the sixth unpublished. Unusual.
