Rare edition of this memoir on the beginning of Napoleon's exile on Saint Helena. The work transcribes the almost daily conversations between the Count de las Cases and the emperor about his life, career, political vision and conditions of his exile. Published shortly after Napoleon's death, it enjoyed immediate success, having known several editions throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
