Album "Scenes of Destruction" dedicated by Gideon Hausner


Photo album "Scenes of Destruction" - Published by the Center Party for the Workers of Eretz Israel, 1947 - Horrifying photos depicting the Holocaust of European Jewry. Dedicated and hand-signed copy by the Attorney General - Chief Prosecutor at the Eichmann Trial - Gideon Hausner: "To Mr. Tavor, may these visions serve as an eternal testimony.. Gideon Hausner".


An album with dozens of photos documenting the Nazis' abuse of Jews with the establishment of ghettos, the dire situation of Jews in the ghettos and ghetto children, executions, transports to death camps, the extermination process, corpses of victims in camps, and more. The sources of the photos in the album - some were found on captured SS soldiers, some were taken underground by Jews or resistance fighters. Preface by Avraham Levinson, printed on high-quality chrome paper.


Gideon Hausner [1915-1990] Israeli lawyer and politician. Served as Attorney General of the 3rd government, Knesset member and minister in the Israeli government. Best known as the prosecutor on behalf of the State of Israel at the Eichmann trial, where in addition to bringing Eichmann to justice and proving his part in the Final Solution plan to exterminate the Jewish people in Europe, Hausner saw himself as giving voice to the silence of all those Kdoshei Hashem, as he stated in his opening speech: "As I stand here before you, Judges of Israel, to accuse Adolf Eichmann, I am not standing alone; with me here at this hour stand six million prosecutors..." As he encouraged witnesses to tell what they saw in detail, in order to spread the memory of the Holocaust throughout the world.
