Ward Palmer Mann (1921 - 2005) "Top-o-turk Hill"
Ward Palmer Mann (1921 - 2005) Oil on masonite, signed lower right, titled "Top-o-turk Hill" Dated May 14 1966, measures 18 x 24 inches and 23 x 29 inches w/frame. Born and raised in Michigan and a graduate of the University of Michigan. Since 1974 he has spent summers in the historic Rocky Neck Art Colony, painting Cape Ann scenes in oil and watercolor. His favorite media: pen and ink drawings. Mann’s works have captured harbors, villages, cities, landscapes, and seascapes throughout Europe and North America. His style is considered ‘impressionist, ’ open and somewhat textured with an obsession for light, and finely controlled draftsmanship. His home and winter studio is in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Ward’s work is represented in numerous public, private, and corporate collections as well as publications. He is listed in: Who’s Who in American Art, Who’s Who in the East among others.He was a member of The Salmagundi Club, The Webster Art Club and The Penfield Art Association.
