Caroline Van Hook Bean (1879 - 1980) Watercolor & Gouache on paper, Signed Lower Right, Measures (10 x 13.4 inches) w/frame (19 x 22 inches) First exhibited at the Cosmos Club at age 7. Known for her portraits and city scenes of New York and Washington D.C. Caroline studied at Smith College, in Paris; and with William M. Chase, Bart J. Bloomers and John Singer Sargent. She was a member of a number of art societies including. the Society of Washington Artists.; Society of Washington; Wash. AC; Palm Beach Art League.; West Palm Beach Art Gild.
