John Ward (20th century) Watercolor on paper, Signed Lower Right, #5A Royal Poinciana, Measures (20 x 26 inches) John Ward lived on Phillips St. in Marblehead , Massachusetts. He is best remembered for his vibrant American Impressionist harbor scenes, done primarily on Cape Ann, Rockport and Gloucester, Massachusetts, and up and down the East coastline. Most of his available works are quaint sailboat and fisherman scenes done in bright palette during the 1930's. His work is similiar in style to Anthony Thieme.
