This distinguished 19th-century Ottoman kama dagger exemplifying the martial elegance of the Turkish tradition features a broad, double-edged steel blade with a deep central fuller punctuated by distinct geometric perforations and a stamped armorer’s mark. The hilt is meticulously crafted from dark, polished horn and is secured by two prominent silver rivets adorned with decorative floral bosses. The accompanying scabbard consists of a leather-wrapped core fitted with substantial silver mounts, including an elongated locket with suspension rings and a tapering chape, both of which are expertly decorated with chased and engraved foliate borders and scalloped edges characteristic of Ottoman metalwork. This piece served as both a functional weapon and a symbol of status within the diverse cultures of the Empire, measuring approximately 55 cm in its total length when sheathed.
