A Magnificent Islamic sword, Kilij, Pala, gold kofgari, Holy Quran text, Ottoman Empire, circa 1800 - Item details Description A Magnificent Islamic sword, Kilij, Pala, gold kofgari, Holy Quran text, Ottoman Empire, circa 1800. Classic for PALA sword, curved blade, probably made of Wootz steel. Richly decorated with gold kofgari on both sides. On the left side of the blade, there are inscriptions. The upper inscription, text from the Holy Quran, ”And We have not sent you, (O Muhammad), except as a mercy to the worlds”, Surah Al-Anbiya Ayat 107 , in the lower part, on the right ”Made by Fares Mohamad Agha”, in the lower part, on the left ”Owner Mohamad Afande”. Silver guard decorated with high-quality engraving. The handle is made of horn. The wooden scabbard is covered with black leather and has silver fittings, decorated with engraving and chasing.
