A large set of estate of pilot major Jean Bourgeois consists of a saber with the initials of the owner, a naval dagger, a pair of Belgian flintlock pistols decorated with anchors and the initials of the owner, a telescope, documents from the personal archive and a detailed biography of the pilot major. The beautiful saber is decorated with etching on the curved blade. The bronze hilt with a horn handle is decorated with bas-reliefs and an image of an anchor and the initials of the owner on the pommel. Leather scabbard with brass fittings decorated with a composition in the antique style. A Rare French Officer's Naval Dagger, Dirk, circa 1800. Long, strong, straight blade of lozenge section, engraved and gilded on its first half with anchor, military trophies and floral decorations, with blued background. Brass guard and brass pommel. Finely checkered ebony grip. Black leather scabbard with brass fittings. The pair of pistols have octagonal, rifled barrels of 15 mm caliber. The barrels are decorated with an image of anchors and have the Liege inspection mark ”ELG”. The steel fittings of the pistols are decorated with engravings and the initials of the owner. A very well preserved spyglass with the seller's signature and the inscription ”Bourgeois Jean Port de BAYONNE”. An archive of documents related to his professional activities.
