Extra Rare Two Adrian M26 helmets to Marshal of France Jean de Lattre de Tassigny. - Item details Description This exceptional lot includes two Adrian M26 helmets to one of France’s most distinguished WWII and post-war military leaders Jean de Lattre de Tassigny. One helmet has the General’s insignia, the other helmet has the emblem of the French 19th Army Corps, referred to as the Army of Africa and has the inscription DE LATTRE DE TASSIGNY on the inside. The leather linings and chinstraps are in good condition. Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, born February 2, 1889 in Mouilleron-en-Pareds (Vendée) and died January 11, 1952 in Neuilly-sur-Seine (Seine), is a French general officer. An important figure of the Second World War, a companion of the Liberation, he was posthumously elevated to the dignity of Marshal of France.De Lattre's legacy as a symbol of French resistance and military prowess elevates these helmets as remarkable pieces of history and military heritage .
