Rare officer's sword, Russian Empire, 18th century, inscription on the blade ”VIVAT ANNA THE GREAT”. - Item details Description Rare officer's sword, Russian Empire, 18th century, inscription on the blade ”VIVAT ANNA THE GREAT”. The blade is straight hexagonal at the base. The blade is inlaid with brass plates with engraved inscriptions. On one side of the blade there is an inscription in Cyrillic script “VIVAT ANNA THE GREAT”, on the other side there is an inscription “TO GOD AND THE FATHERLAND”. Fine quality Gilded bronze hilt with a wooden handle wrapped in brass wire. Similar sabers were used by cavalry officers of the Russian Empire in 1730-1740. Rare collectible item in good condition.
