Francisco de Caldas Pereira e Castro (1543-1597), lawyer and jurisconsult born in Monção (or Tuy?), graduated from the University of Salamanca and graduated from the University of Coimbra, where he was a professor. The “Analyticus commentarius...” were one of the few works he saw published during his lifetime. A slightly cropped specimen with slight browning. Title page, free endpaper and dedication with several scratched old ownerships; small central fault on the title page, caused by the browning of the ink; occasional contemporary notes and moisture stains.
