A MARBLE BUDDHIST LION ON A ROUND DRUM China, early Ming dynasty The sculpture - carved in a single block of white marble with yellowish veins - depicts an all-round Buddhist lion crouched on a circular-section drum, on the lower and upper sides of which runs a sequence of small umbons. 22 cm high Provenance: Fabrizio Savi collection, acquired in the early 2000s.
