Signed lower right Balsamo. Vincenzo Balsamo is a living painter from Brindisi where he was born in 1935. Due to the death of his father he had to leave his studies and found work in the workshop of the painter and decorator Pietro Acquaviva. Initially he was involved in the restoration of churches, & nbsp; I use that slowly abandons to paint. After the war he moved to Rome where he enrolled in the "San Giacomo" School of Art. Among his first public exhibitions are that of the "Circolo Cittadino" in Brindisi and in Rome at the "Il Camino" Gallery. He also takes care of the scenography for the film "Cleopatra" in the Cinecittà studios. Starting from the Sixties he painted Tuscan, Umbrian, Lazio and Campania landscapes where the colors & nbsp; predominant are the shades of blue, red, green, yellow. His style undergoes an evolutionary process becoming expressive and almost abstract as the colored backgrounds break down more and more. This change is the result of a thoughtful study on cubist and abstract painters. & Nbsp;
