Hagaddah Shel Pesach / Passover Hagaddah Wien Jos Schlesinger הגדה של פסח וויאן 1929
These famous Haggadahs were printed in a few formats, this being a third edition translated into German. There are numerous colourful scenes. Special note to be taken of the large double colour print depicting Rabbis sitting and discussing the wonders of leaving Egypt. Schlesinger would use the faces of contemporary or well-known Rabbis as faces for the Talmudic Sages. This edition includes pictures of Rabbi Akiva Eiger, Rabbi Moses Sofer the Chassam Sofer, the Ksav Sofer and Rav Simcha Bunin Sofer. The book is heavily stained with wine and the first 30 pages have become loose from the binding. A collectors item.
