VERY RARE - Autographed U.S. 1862 $10.00 Legal Tender Note + Antique Correspondence Detailing Event and Providing Provenance Completely unique, in the ENTIRE legal tender series not a single other autographed note with hand-written signatures can be found. The first "authenticated" U.S. note. A totally unique and one-of-a-kind piece to add as the capstone to any U.S. bill collector's collection. Red seal note, numbered 156, series 61, last number of date worn (sold as 1862 previously), not professionally graded (looks to be close to VF - some small pinholes can be found), signatures bleed through to reverse (Chittenden and Spinner). Antique U.S. currency in plastic case/slab. Pre-1900 correspondence, rolled in two clear sleeves, have been rolled for a substantial time, more than one signature present. Correspondence is between Spinner and Barrister requesting first that the note be signed and then with a detailed response from Spinner. This is the only note that can be traced directly to Spinner's hands, signed when releasing the note back to Barrister for circulation.
