PAIR OF EGYPTIAN STONE WADJ AMULETS
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A pair of stone wadj amulets, each carved in an elongated form with a flaring top and a central perforation for suspension. One is crafted from banded light-hued stone with subtle striations, while the other is of green stone with a contrasting pale band running across the surface.For similar see: Andrews C., Amulets of Ancient Egypt, British Museum Press, f. 83.Size: 25.1-27.9mm x 7.8-7.9mm; Weight: 3.04gProvenance: Private UK collection; From an old British collection formed in the 1990s.
