EGYPTIAN BRONZE HEAD OF A CAT
Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A bronze feline head with upright ears, deep-set eyes, a defined nose with whisker pads, and a closed mouth. The patina is a mottled green, typical of aged bronze. The head is mounted on a square, off-white marble pedestal. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 40.5.
