Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC.A collection of Egyptian scarabs in gold frames. The first scarab on the left is made of pale green faience, has naturalistic features and a hieroglyphic inscription on the back. The scarab is set in a gold frame comprising of pellets and filigree. The second scarab is an Egyptian pale green faience scarab of ovoid form with realistic features and depicts the standing god Thoth. The third Egyptian scarab is made of pale green faience with realistic features and depicts Thoth holding a long sceptre set in a gold frame.Size: 15-19mm x 10-16mm; Weight: 6gProvenance: Property of a North London gentleman; previously acquired on the UK/European art market in the 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
