Ca. 664 - 332 BC.An Egyptian late-period mummy shroud composed of faience seed shaped and tubular beads. It has a detailed face, a winged scarab and the four Sons of Horus. The facial features are depicted using black, white and red beads. Beneath the depiction, a scarab symbolises rebirth, while the four figures act as protectors of the internal organs.Size: 255mm x 130mm; Weight: 56gProvenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s; previously in 1970s UK collection.
