LARGE VIKING IRON SPEARHEAD WITH INLAID SILVER
Ca. AD 800 - 1000A large Viking iron spearhead with a long double-edged blade. The blade is embellished with an inlaid silver pattern possibly meant to represent a twisting plant. The blade would have been affixed to a wooden shaft via the socket at one end, with the whole spear being wielded in combination with the stereotypical round shield.
