RARE MOHENJO-DARO STONE SEAL WITH THREE ANIMALS
Ca. 3rd millennium BC.
A square stone seal with polished sides featuring a mythical creature. This creature has three heads combining: a bull, a unicorn, and an antelope. The reverse side showcases a design of four concentric circles arranged in two rows of two. Provenance: From a private collection of a London doctor, previously acquired from an established London collection, C.M.; formerly in Sultani family collection, Mayfair, London, early 1990s; acquired between 1960s-1990s. Studied by Prof. Lambert in the 1990s.
