ANCIENT BRONZE SWORD WITH STONE POMMEL
Western Asiatic/Aegan, Ca. 1200 - 700 BC.
A bronze sword consisting of a long triangular blade that tapers gradually to a sharp point. The hilt of the sword features a rectangular-section shank for possible inlay. The sword is adorned with a D-shaped stone pommel, elegantly completing the hilt. For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 9482, The Art of Warfare, The Axel Guttmann collection part I, Lot. 14.
