BACTRIAN GOLD NECKLACE WITH AGATE AND GOLD BEADS
CA. 2300 - 1800 BC.
A gorgeous 22.5 ct wearable necklace composed of a barrel shaped agate bead with gold terminals, set in an ancient twisted gold necklace. The agate grades from creamy white sharply to dark brown. For similar see: Christie's, Live auction 2375 Ancient jewellery, Lot. 306. This piece has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm the metallurgical content suggesting its ancient origin and lack of modern trace elements.
