ANCIENT EGYPTIAN PIECE OF PAINTED CARTONNAGE CLOTH
An ancient Egyptian piece of cartonnage cloth dating back from the 8th to 6th centuries BC. Cartonnage was a technique used by ancient Egyptians to create decorative and functional elements, often in the form of burial encasements or masks for mummies. These pieces of cloth, often combined with layers of plaster or papyrus, were intricately painted and adorned with symbolic imagery.
