Chapel furniture with sculpture of the Immaculate Conception. XVIII century and later
Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. Sculpture, carved wood, glass, metal. Second half of the 18th century and later.

Carved wood chapel with decoration on the upper part of the railing and balusters in the shape of a vase with a certain Baroque reminiscence, which presents three of its four fronts in transparent glass and rises slightly on circular legs. Inside, a gilded background can be seen (on the fourth front of the chapel, enhancing a carved and polychrome vegetal composition), and a polychrome sculpture of the Immaculate surrounded by flat and wavy and pointed and circular alternating luminous rays. The carving stands on a pedestal, and presents a white tunic and a blue mantle; Mary is standing on the Orb of Creation, in which a serpent appears (linked to Sin). The carving shows a clear influence of Spanish Baroque models, as well as certain details such as the posture that can be linked to Neoclassicism. This mixture and the maintenance of the Baroque influence are common in the Spanish sculpture of the 18th century.
