Signed and dated lower left: "Julien / Pinxit / 1859". Inscribed lower right: "68 years old". With handwritten text on the back of the work in black and brown ink: "Murio de setenta y siete a 25 de / Febrero de 1868" (He died aged seventy-seven on the 25th of / February 1868).
