Furniture, early 18th century
A piece of furniture from the first half of the 18th century, made of oak and walnut wood. Wardrobe made of oak and walnut, decorated with profuse carving and moulding. Its architectural structure, inspired by Baroque models of its time, is divided into two sections and three registers, crowned at the top by a projecting cornice with a central sinuous pediment.

The composition is organised by means of regular straight lines, which emphasise the differentiation of each of the different parts of the structure, following a classical criterion. Two doors, each with its own lock with a double fleur-de-lis cut-out coat of arms.

Its design is organised around a central mixtilinear groove, carved on the inside with a rockery cresting, which brings us closer to the anticipation of Rococo art. The perimeter of the central recesses is repeated with increasingly complex lines, drawn with mouldings that are very high in relation to the background, which provide contrast and chiaroscuro typical of baroque furniture. In addition, the central area is highlighted by very bulky carvings based on vegetal scrolls, scallops and rockery crests. The middle register, still visually part of the lower body, contains two drawers of the same size and design, which combine diamond-tipped recesses with gilt fittings decorated with chiselled decoration. Finally, the upper body has two more doors, like the lower one with its locks, and follows a similar ornamental pattern to that of the lower doors, although more developed and vertical in design, also with decoration of rocailles and vegetal brackets, combined with a rich moulding of dynamic lines, in the Baroque style. As a finishing touch, under the cornice and in the central area, there is a stepped motif organised around the lines of two sinuous pediments, combined with floral motifs and classical carvings.
