17th century Spanish table
Turned-leg table made of walnut wood.
Possibly from Castile (Spain), 17th century.
It has a straight top, two drawer fronts decorated with circles (the two at the ends of each drawer front have a star) and wooden handles.
with circles (the two at the ends of each drawer front, with a star and wooden handles) and four turned legs with balustraded forms joined together by straight chamfers (only the front one is decorated, matching the front under the drawers).
Compare it, for example, with the so-called Bufete de la Inquisición in the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas in Madrid (ca. 1600), or with several buffets from the same period in the Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid) and Casa Museo Lope de Vega (Madrid).
