In September 1969, the New York magazine Avant Garde devoted this special issue to commenting on and reproducing engraved prints of erotic themes devised and produced by Pablo Ruiz Picasso (1881-1973).

This issue is divided into seven chapters: Introduction, The Artist and his Model, The Circus, The Brothel, The Voyeur, The Muses and The Orgy. They reproduce a series of drawings by the brilliant Malaga-born artist that he produced a year before the year of this publication, as his originals are signed and dated between 4.3.68 and 29.9.68.
